Treatment & Approaches

Our work together will begin with a 60 minute initial consultation so we can get to know each other and jointly determine goals for the work together. I tailor treatment to each person and offer a varied approach to psychotherapy that includes psychodynamic, trauma-focused, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. I typically see people 1-2 times per week for 45 minute sessions. Should the need arise, I can make referrals to psychiatrists, nutritionists, and other health care professionals, and will work closely with the members of your treatment team.

I work with individuals 18 and older around a diverse range of issues, including treatment of the following:

  • trauma & PTSD

  • eating disorders

  • health issues

  • emerging adulthood

  • mood disorders (depression, anxiety & bipolar disorder)

  • grief & loss

  • work & academic stress

  • relationship issues

  • life transitions

Fees & Insurance

As an out-of-network provider, insurance companies do not dictate the terms or length of the treatment I provide.  Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage that may provide reimbursement for out-of-pocket therapy costs. I provide monthly superbills for the purpose of insurance submission. To get a better sense of your coverage, the following are some questions to ask your insurance provider:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage?

  • Does that cover treatment with an LCSW?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible?

  • What is the reasonable and customary rate for CPT code 90834 (45 minute therapy session) in zip code 10001?

For those that do not have insurance or out-of-network benefits, I do offer sliding scale services based on need and availability.

Please note that I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
